Local life
Lille has an abundance of restaurants – around 1,400 – including estaminets renowned for their Flemish cuisine, and more prestigious ones such as Rozo and La Table (at the Hotel Clarance). Among the most famous are Bloempot, Vagabond, Rouge Barre,Empreinte and Méert.
Now pedestrianized, the city center is lined with over 20,000 shops. The Euralille shopping center, ideally located between the Lille-Europe and Lille-Flandres railway stations, is the temple of consumerism.
For party-goers, more than 345 bars liven up the nightlife, which is divided between Rue Solférino, frequented by the city’s many students, and Vieux-Lille, whose establishments cater to a trendier clientele.
